Privacy Policy
The ISSight Application is an educational outreach tool designed to collect and share
location and orientation data of unique iOS devices when they are used to track the International Space Station.
The use of ISSight is completely voluntary and the use of the applicaiton does not require the user to
share any data if they do not want to. Choosing not to share data does not restrict the utility of the
application in any way. If the user of the app chooses to collect and share their sighting data,
the following information will be publically shared
here:
Unique Device ID: Each iOS device has a unique anonamous
identifier that is used to group all observation data from a single device. While each observation data point
will be associated with its unique identifier, no personal or user information is connected to the anonomous ID.
Device Location and Time: The latitude, longitude, altitude and
time of each observation is included in a shared observation.
Device Orientation: The heading and elevation of the
device is included in the shared data.
What is not included in the shared observation data:
- Personal Information: The ISSight app does not collect,
share, sell or distribute any personal information to include age, gender or race. All data colleted by ISSight is available to be
reviewed on the app before it is shared and all shared public data is available here.
